Accreditation Manager

Performs work of considerable difficulty in planning, directing, and coordinating activities of the Adult Detention Center, a Division of the Sheriff's Office, to ensure that goals and objective are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing duties personally or through subordinates; performs other work as assigned or required.  Assigns and supervises personnel and develops methods to improve the level of performance.  Directs and coordinates the operation of the Accreditation/Compliance Unit within the Detention Facility. Enforces policies, procedures, rules and regulations and makes recommendations as necessary to improve public relations, the handling of disciplinary matters and employee grievances.  Maintains records and reports progress and/or problems to immediate supervisor.  Analyzes situations and make sound recommendations both orally and in writing.  Coordinates department activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.  Develops policies, procedures, operations, and special projects of a 24 hour inmate detention facility.  Interprets organizational rules, regulations and policies; communicates departmental directives to subordinate personnel.  Overseas the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law, and/or local governing bodies.  Maintain Standards files for compliance with ACA/NCCHC Accreditation.  Maintain Master and archive files for facility procedures.  Facilitate and coordinate the accreditation process for ACA/NCCHC inspections. Audit correctional units for compliance with accreditation standards.  Recommend changes and improvements for the facility operations.  Stay current with all local, state and national revisions and measures impacting the Detention Center's operations and accreditation.
