Job Description: Overview

Candidate must be very detailed oriented and have keen organizational skills.  Will work under the direction of the Manager in creating different product lines for Dickies Chef. Previous experience in fabric development including lab dips, strike offs and creating specs a plus.  

 

Key Responsibilities

  Product development

?  Approve with Manager and Quality all lab dips and strike offs

?  Create, update and maintain all product specifications for the department

?  Responsible for keeping a historical account of all approvals for the Chef team

?  Communicate with vendors on trim, elastic, marketing materials and samples

?  Keep track of all samples from vendors and any samples picked for product

?  Work with Manager on trend research and any competitive analysis

?  Send factories grids with expected samples for fit, production and salesman and work with factory to keep them on schedule

?  Cut patterns when needed and schedule sew time in the Sample Room for any samples to be made

?  Knowledge of pattern making, grading, and adjusting, correcting patterns. 

 

Additional Duties:

?  Coordinate all fittings with models from agency

?  Assign and keep record of all style numbers and trim/part numbers

?  Get all UPC?s set up with IT and make sure styles are set up in the system

?  Log all approvals and keep record of them

?  Work with Sales and Design on all Marketing needs (posters, toppers and promo?s)

?  Make sales calls as needed

?  Coordinate with Sales on all shows for samples, marketing info and CADS

?  Work with Sales on distribution of salesman samples

?  Work with outside contractors on any projects such as artwork, CADS and presentation boards

?  Must know how to sketch as well as have working knowledge of design computer software

?  Strong fashion and styling sense and the ability to incorporate new trends into product

 

 

  Requirements:

4 year degree in Fashion, Art or Business.  2-3 year related experience in apparel or related fashion field.
